Abu Dhabi has set a goal to draw Dh235 billion in new investment by 2045, according to the Abu Dhabi Department of Economic Development (ADDED). The target aims to position the emirate as a magnet for global capital over the next two decades.
The plan projects that the inflow will create 130,000 jobs, mainly for highly skilled workers in the innovation sector.
Non-oil sectors now account for more than half of the emirate’s output. This shift reflects a deliberate policy to broaden the economic base beyond hydrocarbons.
The economy has posted solid real-GDP growth for 18 straight quarters.
ADDED says the targets are spread across four specialised economic clusters, aiming to build a diverse and strong environment that positions the emirate as a hub for advanced industries.
Al Mazrouei highlighted that Abu Dhabi offers “a diversified economy, a supportive legislative and regulatory environment, advanced infrastructure, and an integrated ecosystem that enables businesses to establish operations, access markets, grow and expand.”
The emirate’s sovereign wealth funds hold over $1.9 trillion in assets, and its sovereign credit rating stands at AA with a stable outlook, highlighting financial stability for long-term investors.
Abu Dhabi ranks among the world’s ten highest economies by GDP per capita, reflecting its established global competitiveness.
The government emphasizes forward-looking policies, reliable services and a trustworthy regulatory environment to attract foreign direct investment.
Private-sector partnerships are a core element of the strategy, with the aim of accelerating growth across the identified clusters.
